Senior Backend Engineer
Role Overview
Build systems. Own outcomes. Grow into leadership. At MX18, we're building a modern email infrastructure platform that powers reliable, scalablecommunication for businesses worldwide. We're looking for a hands-on backend engineerwho enjoys solving complex engineering problems and wants to take ownership beyondwriting code.You'll work closely with our core engineering team to understand the platform end-to-end andgradually take ownership of key modules, architecture decisions, and engineering execution.
What You'll Do
● Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
● Build and enhance distributed microservices.
● Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to deliver high-quality features.
● Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
● Review code, troubleshoot production issues, and improve system performance.
● Contribute to architecture discussions and engineering best practices.
● Take ownership of features from design through deployment and production support.
● Mentor junior engineers and actively contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
Tech Stack
React, Node.js, Java, PostgreSQL, Redis, ActiveMQ, Docker, and Microservices Architecture.
What We're Looking For
● 4–8 years of backend development experience.
● Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and working knowledge of Java.
● Experience building REST APIs and distributed microservices.
● Good understanding of PostgreSQL, Redis, and messaging systems.
● Familiarity with Docker and Git-based development workflows.
● Strong problem-solving skills and understanding of scalable system design.
● Comfortable working in a fast-paced product startup environment.
